Kawai brings a wealth of real estate research experience spanning almost two decades to Colliers.
Colliers International Japan (NASDAQ & TSX: CIGI) announced July 1st, 2021 that Kohei Kawai has been appointed Head of Research for their operations in Japan.
After rising through the ranks at Xymax Corporation over the past 17 years, Kawai began his career in 2004 as an associate. By the time Colliers nabbed him, Kawai was a senior researcher.
Additionally, Kawai spent 2 years concurrently during his time with Xymax as a research fellow for the Real Estate Information Lab at The University of Tokyo.
According to the announcement, Colliers said “We are confident that Kawai's 17 years of experience in the real estate industry and his entrepreneurial spirit will further strengthen our research team's capabilities to accelerate customer success and lead the industry into the future.” said
Kawai will be responsible for leading the research team in Japan with his strong capabilities in the field while moving into a more client-focused role, working closely with our existing client base and internal stakeholders across multiple functions. Reporting into Yukihiro Ogasawara, Managing Director of Colliers Japan, Kawai will lead and grow the local research capability with clear and ambitious targets for our clients, producing strategic, rigorous and actionable research that integrates our services across the region.
